The Ghazi Attack 720p hd Backed by Saudi Arabia, Trump has made his first visit to the kingdom. He arrived in Riyadh for meetings with King Salman and was given a ceremonial welcome. This is President Trump's first visit since taking office. On Sunday he tweeted that he had “great meetings” ahead of him in Saudi Arabia. The country, which is home to Islam's holiest city- Mecca - has been at odds with Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. With the US behind Saudi Arabia, it aims to keep Iran in check and install puppet rulers in Syria and Lebanon who will assist it in conducting military operations against Shia Muslims there. Great to be in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Looking forward to the afternoon and evening ahead. #POTUSAbroad pic.twitter.com/JJOra0KfyR — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 20, 2017 On Wednesday, Trump urged Muslim countries to take the lead in fighting radicalisation. In a speech at a summit of more than 50 leaders of Muslim countries in Riyadh, Trump denounced the Islamic State terror group and urged Islamic leaders to drive out extremists from their countries. “This is not a battle between different faiths, different sects or different civilisations," he said at the Arab-Islamic-US summit in Riyadh on Sunday. "This is a battle between barbaric criminals who seek to obliterate human life, and decent people of all religions who seek to protect it." Trump also criticised Iran, saying his administration would work with Gulf states "to isolate" Tehran. The US president has called for closer relations with Saudi Arabia. This visit comes just after the United States imposed sanctions on several individuals and companies in the country, accusing them of being "individuals providing support" to the government. “The Iranian regime supports terrorism and exports violence, bloodshed and chaos across the Middle East. That is why we must put an end to Iran’s continued aggression and nuclear ambitions,” Trump said in Riyadh. The US president called on Arab leaders to help stop the "epidemic" of extremism. “Our Crusade against this violence must be the centrepiece of a new era of cooperation and progress in the Middle East,” he said.
In Saudi Arabia, President Trump said he wants US allies to take a much tougher stand toward Iran. “We want to see peace with Iran, but they do not respect the rights of others,” he said after meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri at the Mideast summit. “They respect nothing. They kill women and children of a country they fight fiercely. ” Trump’s policy about Islam and his attitude to the Islamic world drawn a lot of criticism from experts and politicians around the globe. Many experts believe that Trump’s policy will not succeed, while it will take the region into a war. All these experts say that Trump should focus on other things instead of going to countries like Saudi Arabia, which has been accused of human rights violations and other crimes against humanity. In fact, Riyadh should be under sanctions instead of being hosted by its Western allies, experts add. In addition to this, many people also criticise Trump for refusing to stay in any hotels other than Ritz Carlton hotels because he believes their standards equal his own standards.
